!!TAKE NOTE OF A NEW STATE LAW!!
**If an animal, not up-to-date with its vaccination, bites a human, the owner may be fined up to $200 per incident plus the cost of a 10-day confinement in a shelter or kennel.**
To see what is going on around Town, drop by a Town Board meeting, held the second Monday of every month at 7:00pm and/or a Planning Board meeting, held the third Wednesday of every month at 7:00pm.
Please remember that New York State requires all dogs 4 months of age and older be licensed. Compliance is mandatory. The licensing fee is 12.50 for spayed/neutered dog and $20.50 for unspayed/unneutered, which needs to be renewed each year. A rabies certificate is also required at the time of licensing, which you can get from your veterinarian. I have had a couple of wandering dogs here at the Town Hall and luckily they have been licensed so we can call the owners. Otherwise, we have to turn them over the the County, and you have to bail them out - with a valid dog license and rabies certificate!! It can be costly - more so if the dog is not licensed!
If you would like to be added to my email list and receive the monthly minutes via email, email me at jhanley@southbristol.org.
